Big Fish Little Fish family rave presents Ravin’ Fringe
Award winning shows at Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut

This year our award winning family raves will be at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the first time. Big Fish Little Fish Scotland Crew are hosting gigs at Studio 24, Calton Road every Sunday in August.  Each with a different fancy dress theme and world class DJs.

“The best day of my whole life” – six-year-old BFLF first timer

The renowned DJs will playing a range of eclectic, upfront dance music. We’ll also have our baby chill, craft area, sensory dance floor, free glowsticks and transfer tattoos; plus workshops and a range of stalls including cakes and facepainters.

  • 7th August – DJ Iain Baker (xFM, Jesus Jones) – indie and dance set with an ‘Enchantment Under The Sea’ party
  • 14th August – DJ Food (Ninja Tunes) Big Fish Little Fish regular with a ‘Marvellous Reekie Circus Show’ theme
  • 21st August – 2 Bad Mice (Moving Shadow) an old skool party, for a ‘Jungle Jingle’ theme
  • 29th August – DJ Chad Jackson (Hacienda/ DMC Champion) an eclectic set for a ‘Walk on The Wild Side’ theme

Voted ‘Best Family Event 2015’ at The National Family Arts Festival, Big Fish Little Fish has been running regularly in London since 2013, and has also been named in The Top Ten of Time Out London’s ‘101 Best Things To Do With Kids in London’.

The family raves include a multi-sensory dance floor with top DJs playing club classics and upfront dance music. Bubble machines, glitter cannons, club visuals and a giant parachute dance help to create the atmosphere of a real rave. All events will also offer a play and chillout area for babies, as well as a quality themed crafting area featuring colouring murals, playdough and transfer tattoos. There will also be pop up stalls offering facepainting, cakes, and special additions such photo booths, DJ workshops, dance shows and extras such as Red Dog Music sound station.

Big Fish Little Fish launched in Scotland on 12 March at Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele, and have since sold out a further 3 parties including a launch at Glasgow Drygate on 29 May. Since starting in Scotland, the crew have been set on bringing the party to smaller towns out of the city to share the anarchic family fun with all. Galashiels will be the first to experience Big Fish Little Fish ‘Rural’ on 24 July.
